Abstract

The rapid development of the Metaverse, a convergence of virtual worlds, social networks, games, and blockchain technologies, has significant implications for various aspects of human life. However, this technological advancement also raises critical issues related to data privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property rights, and social inequalities. As the Metaverse transcends national boundaries, international cooperation and the establishment of global standards for its governance are crucial. This article aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities presented by the Metaverse, emphasize the importance of international collaboration, and provide recommendations for developing a global regulatory framework. Through an extensive literature review, document analysis, and comparative analysis, the article explores existing approaches, identifies key issues, and proposes strategies for creating a harmonized set of standards. The findings highlight the need for a comprehensive international convention, incorporating principles of data protection, cybersecurity, intellectual property rights, and social equity. Additionally, the involvement of various stakeholders, capacity building in Metaverse jurisprudence, and the establishment of international monitoring mechanisms are recommended. By fostering international cooperation and implementing global standards, the Metaverse can become a safe, secure, and inclusive technological frontier that serves the interests of humanity.
